How the Classical Guitar is Made

A chisel, a plane and harmonic bars

The harmonic bars determine guitar reverberation. It attached to the top plate with a strong adhesive and influences the sound. The adhesive has a high collagen content and turns hard when it cools down and exposed to air. Therefore the glue is kept in a bowl of hot water. The steel tray for storing the wood is also heated up before assembly.

Approximately two hours are permitted to bond, each harmonic bar is shaved with a chisel and plane.
